MoonStruck Drive-In is a small family business with just Andrew and I working with a great team of loyal and dedicated team members. ![]() Many people ask us if we started the business because of the pandemic, the answer is no, the plans were already there before the pandemic but it definitely made it interesting to start a business during that time!Īlright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more? The partnership was born one week later to start MoonStruck Drive-In. I have always had a passion for film but the one thing Blue Moon Cinemas couldn’t do was play new-release movies at the same time as in-door theaters, I needed a permanent theater and equipment to be able to achieve that dream! I found Andrew Thomas, who owns Showboat Drive-In and we immediately hit it off. At Blue Moon Cinemas, we take the screen and movie set-up out to clients, wherever they are and put on a turnkey private event for them whether it is a backyard party, non-profit event, corporate event, parks and recs event, school movie night and we have the capability to make any of those events a drive-in movie for guests to be socially distanced and safe. I own a company called Blue Moon Cinemas, where we do over 300 events per year doing inflatable movie events in Texas and surrounding states for the last 13 years. Hi Alicia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business? His most notable recent role: himself in "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Tashiro and we’ve shared our conversation below. After three tumultuous decades in front of the camera, Cage appears to have put his B-pictures and action titles to rest and settled into the indie fare he wanted to make back in 1987. Between these efforts, he's also given memorable voice-over roles in animated features ("The Croods" and "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse"), hosted a television series ("The History of Swear Words"), and earned headlines for financial troubles and offbeat behavior. He's won an Oscar ("Leaving Las Vegas"), starred in high-profile studio pictures like "Adaptation." and "Bringing Out the Dead," been an inspired leading man in offbeat hits like "Raising Arizona," "Joe," and "Pig," an unlikely but believable action star in "Con Air" and "The Rock," a full-tilt-gonzo presence in cinematic freakouts like "Mandy" and "Color Out of Space," and a direct-to-video hero in far too many forgettable films to list. In the years since "Moonstruck," Cage has undergone almost as many career transformations and revivals as Cher. Its popularity earned Cher a spot in the New York Times Magazine's Best Actors of 2020 list –- the first time an actor who was not in current film joined its ranks. "Moonstruck" also returned to prominence, most notably during the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the death of Bono in 1998, she scored a massive hit with "Believe," which became the best-selling single in the United States and United Kingdom that year, and netted her a Grammy.Ĭher remains active and popular in her seventh decade through residencies in Las Vegas, new recordings, and occasional film appearances in "Burlesque" and "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again." She received a Kennedy Center Honors prize in 2018 and became the face of numerous advertising and charitable campaigns. The success of films like "Silkwood," "Moonstruck," and "The Witches of Eastwick" led to a brief period of box office stardom for Cher. Cher also conquered television, again with Sonny on "The Sonny & Cher Show" and as a solo host, before venturing into screen acting as a dramatic actress. The El Centro, California native, born Cheryl Sarkissian, had already enjoyed stardom as a pop singer, both as a duo with former husband Sonny Bono and as a solo artist.
